Mercedes-Benz Gearbox Repair in Dubai
Gearbox diagnosis, fluid service, valve body and mechatronic repair for Mercedes-Benz at our DIP 2 workshop.
Overview
We diagnose and repair Mercedes-Benz 7G-Tronic and 9G-Tronic automatic gearboxes. Many harsh-shift and limp-mode problems are fixed by a fluid service, an electrical repair or a valve body or conductor plate repair, rather than a new gearbox.

Common jobs
What we see on Mercedes cars
7G-Tronic (722.9) conductor plate
Speed-sensor faults on the conductor plate cause limp mode, sudden harsh shifts or no reverse. It is a known weak point and repairable.
Connector sleeve oil leaks
Gearbox oil can leak through the electrical connector sleeve and wick into the wiring. We replace the sleeve and check the harness.
9G-Tronic shift quality
Jerky or delayed shifts on newer models are often helped by a fluid and filter service and an adaptation reset.
Fluid and filter service
Mercedes gearboxes benefit from fresh fluid in Dubai heat. We use the specified fluid and fill to the correct level at the right temperature.
Signs to watch for
- Jerky, harsh or delayed gear changes
- Engine revs rise but the car does not accelerate (slipping)
- Gearbox warning or limp mode
- Delay when selecting Drive or Reverse
- Whining, clunking or burning smell
- Red fluid leaking under the car
How we do it
Road test and scan
We drive the car to feel the fault and read transmission codes and adaptation data.
Fluid and mechanical checks
Fluid level and condition, leaks and mounts are checked, because many shifting problems start there.
Repair plan
We explain whether a fluid service, software adaptation, part replacement or overhaul is needed, with an estimate.
Repair, adapt and test
After the work we reset adaptations and road-test until the gearbox shifts correctly.
FAQ
Common questions
My Mercedes is stuck in limp mode. Is the gearbox finished?
Usually not. Limp mode is often triggered by a sensor, conductor plate or wiring fault, which we diagnose before recommending any major work.
Should I change the gearbox oil on my Mercedes?
Yes, at sensible intervals. Dubai heat ages the fluid faster than the "lifetime" description suggests.
