What to know about your Dodge
HEMI V8s need the right oil
The 5.7 and 6.4 HEMI engines use cylinder deactivation (MDS) on many versions. The correct oil and change interval help protect the lifters.
ZF-designed eight-speed
Most Chargers, Challengers, Durangos and RAMs use an eight-speed automatic based on the ZF 8HP. Fluid condition affects shift quality.
Performance cars run hot
SRT and Scat Pack models produce a lot of heat; radiators, fans and coolant are checked at every service.

Common Dodge problems we fix
HEMI tick
A ticking noise on a 5.7 or 6.4 HEMI can be a lifter or camshaft problem. It should be diagnosed early: catching it before the camshaft wears keeps the repair smaller.
Pentastar oil cooler
The 3.6-litre V6 in the Charger, Challenger and Durango has a plastic oil cooler housing that can crack and leak oil or coolant.
Performance brakes
Big Brembo brakes on SRT and Scat Pack models wear quickly when driven hard; we measure discs and pads before recommending anything.
Cooling in summer
High-output V8s need healthy radiators, fans and coolant in Dubai heat, especially after the car has been modified.
