Advice for Jeep owners in Dubai. After desert driving, have a Jeep's steering joints, axles and air filter checked. Sand and big tyres speed up wear on the front end.
Owner's guide
What to know about your Jeep
Solid front axle on the Wrangler
The Wrangler and Gladiator use a solid front axle. It is tough off-road, but worn track bars, tie rods and ball joints can cause the "death wobble" at speed.
Pentastar oil cooler housing
The 3.6-litre V6 has a plastic oil filter housing that can crack with heat cycles. An oil or coolant leak at the back of the engine is the clue.
Quadra-Lift on the Grand Cherokee
Grand Cherokees with Quadra-Lift air suspension can raise for off-road use. Leaks show as the car sitting low.
Repairs
Common Jeep problems we fix
Wrangler "death wobble"
A violent shake from the front after hitting a bump at speed comes from worn steering and suspension parts: track bar, tie rods, ball joints or the steering damper. We find the loose part rather than just fitting a new damper.
Pentastar oil cooler leak
The 3.6-litre V6 has a plastic oil filter housing and cooler that can crack in the heat, leaking oil or coolant into the valley of the engine.
Grand Cherokee Quadra-Lift
Quadra-Lift air suspension that sits low or shows a service warning is traced to air springs, lines, the compressor or height sensors.
4x4 and axles
Transfer cases, front and rear axles and their fluids take a beating in sand. We check and change fluids after heavy off-road use.

Oil-change indicator and fixed intervals. Jeep uses an oil-change indicator plus fixed intervals for other items. Off-road and hot-climate use count as severe.
| Item | When | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil and filter | When the indicator asks, or at the severe-use interval | — |
| Axle and transfer case oil | At the booklet interval; after water crossings or heavy sand | — |
| Steering and suspension check | Every service | Especially on lifted or big-tyre Wranglers. |
| Air filter | Check every service and after desert trips | — |
Every Jeep that comes in is connected to Stellantis-capable diagnostic software that reads every Jeep module, and we check:
- Fault-code scan
- Steering joints and track bar
- Oil and coolant leaks
- 4WD and axles
- AC performance
