What to know about your Opel
Newer Opels share Peugeot/Citroën engineering
Since Opel became part of the PSA group (now Stellantis), the newer Corsa, Mokka and Grandland use shared platforms and engines, while the Astra K and Insignia B use earlier GM-era engines.
Some 1.2 turbo engines have a belt in oil
The 1.2 three-cylinder turbo used in several newer Opels has a timing belt that runs in oil. The right oil and on-time belt checks are important; a worn belt can shed material and cause oil-pressure warnings.
