What to know about your GMC
Same platform as Chevrolet and Cadillac
The Yukon shares its platform with the Tahoe and Escalade, and the Sierra with the Silverado, so many repairs and parts are common.
Denali suspension options
Yukon Denali models can have Magnetic Ride Control and, on newer cars, Air Ride adaptive suspension. Both need proper diagnosis.
The 10-speed automatic
Denali models with the 6.2 V8 use a 10-speed automatic. Fluid condition and software affect shift quality.

Common GMC problems we fix
Denali Air Ride suspension
Newer Yukon Denali models can have Air Ride adaptive suspension. A car sitting low or a suspension message points to an air spring, the compressor or a height sensor.
Magnetic Ride shocks
Magnetic Ride shock absorbers can leak or throw a fault code. We test each corner and replace only the failed shocks.
V8 cylinder deactivation
The 5.3 and 6.2-litre V8s share GM's lifter issues: a tick or misfire needs checking early.
Rear AC and cooling
Three-row Yukons have long rear AC lines that can leak; we leak-test front and rear systems.
