What to know about your Mazda
i-stop needs the right battery
Cars with i-stop use an EFB or AGM battery and need the battery status reset after fitting. The wrong battery is a common cause of i-stop not working.
Conventional automatics
Most Mazdas use a conventional six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic; the CX-60 and CX-90 use a newer eight-speed. No CVT on most models.
Skyactiv engines like fresh oil
High-compression Skyactiv engines run best on the correct low-viscosity oil, changed on the severe schedule in hot climates.

Common Mazda problems we fix
i-stop and battery
Mazdas with i-stop need the correct battery type, often an EFB or AGM. A standard battery can stop i-stop working and fail early in the heat.
Turbo cooling (CX-9, CX-5 2.5T)
Coolant loss or a temperature warning on the 2.5-turbo engine should be checked early; we pressure-test the system to find the leak.
Infotainment screen
Ghost touches or a screen that freezes on older Mazda Connect systems is usually the screen or software, not the whole unit.
AC and brakes
Condensers, compressors and brake pads are checked and replaced only when they need it.
