Advice for Mercedes-Benz owners in Dubai. Mercedes recommends shorter service intervals for hot climates and heavy traffic. Following Service A and Service B on time, and checking the AIRMATIC system for small leaks, prevents most expensive surprises.
Owner's guide
What to know about your Mercedes-Benz
Service A and Service B alternate
Mercedes uses a flexible service system (ASSYST). The dashboard tells you when the next service is due and whether it is an A (smaller) or B (larger) service. They normally alternate each year.
The oil approval number matters
Modern Mercedes engines need oil approved to a specific MB sheet, such as 229.5, 229.51, 229.52 or 229.71 on the newest engines. Using the right viscosity but the wrong approval can harm particulate filters and timing parts.
Many newer models are 48-volt mild hybrids
Cars with EQ Boost (for example the six-cylinder M256 and four-cylinder M254 engines) have a 48V system and an integrated starter-generator as well as the normal 12V battery. Battery and charging faults need proper diagnostics.
AIRMATIC is common on E, S, GLE and GLS
Air suspension gives the comfortable ride Mercedes is known for. Small leaks show up first as the car sitting low after a night parked, long before the warning light comes on.
Repairs
Common Mercedes-Benz problems we fix
Engine oil leaks
Oil cooler, valve cover and oil filter housing gaskets commonly leak on M274, M276 and other engines as seals harden in the heat.
7G-Tronic and 9G-Tronic gearbox problems
Harsh shifts or limp mode are often caused by the conductor plate, valve body or old fluid, which can be repaired without replacing the gearbox.
AIRMATIC air suspension
Cars that sit low after parking or show "Visit workshop" suspension warnings usually have a leaking air strut or a failing compressor or valve block.
Electrical and SAM module faults
Lights, windows or comfort functions that act up are traced through the SAM modules, wiring and connectors.
AC compressor and evaporator
Weak cooling in summer is commonly a compressor, condenser or evaporator issue, which we diagnose with a proper pressure and leak test.

Models and servicing
| Model | Generations | What we usually see |
|---|---|---|
| C-Class | W205 (2014–2021) · W206 (2021–) | M264 four-cylinder; oil leaks, coolant and 9G-Tronic servicing. |
| E-Class | W213 (2016–2023) · W214 (2023–) | AIRMATIC on many trims; M256 mild hybrid on six-cylinder cars. |
| S-Class | W222 (2013–2020) · W223 (2020–) | AIRMATIC or Magic Body Control, rear comfort systems, V8 servicing. |
| GLC | X253 (2015–2022) · X254 (2022–) | Popular in Dubai; AC, brakes and 9G-Tronic fluid service. |
| GLE / ML | W166 (2011–2019) · V167 (2019–) | AIRMATIC struts, transfer case and E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL on some cars. |

| A-Class / CLA | W177 / C118 (2018–) | Seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox service and AC. |
ASSYST flexible service. Your Mercedes calculates its own service date from time, distance and how it is driven. In Dubai, heat and traffic count as severe use, so most cars end up on a yearly cycle. Your service booklet or the car itself is the final word; this is what each item usually involves.
| Item | When | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Engine oil and filter | Every Service A and B (usually yearly) | MB-approved oil for your engine code. |
| Brake fluid | Every 2 years | Brake fluid absorbs moisture, which lowers its boiling point. |
| Cabin (dust) filter | Service B, sooner in dusty areas | A clogged filter weakens the AC airflow. |
| Air filter | By mileage; check every service | Sand and dust shorten its life in the UAE. |
| Spark plugs | At the mileage set for your engine | Misfires on turbo engines often start with tired plugs. |
| 7G / 9G-Tronic fluid | Not in the basic A/B list; we check its condition | In hot climates many specialists change it around 60,000–80,000 km. |
Every Mercedes-Benz that comes in is connected to Mercedes-specific diagnostic software that reads every control unit, not just the engine, and we check:
- Full fault-code scan of all control units
- Underbody check for oil and coolant leaks
- AIRMATIC ride height and compressor run time
- Brake pad and disc thickness
- Battery and 48V system health
- AC vent temperature

FAQ
Mercedes-Benz questions
Do you do Mercedes Service A and Service B?
Yes. We follow the Mercedes service schedule with approved MB 229.5 / 229.51 / 229.52 oils as specified for your engine.
Do you repair AIRMATIC suspension?
Yes, including air struts, compressors, valve blocks and level sensors.
Do you work on AMG models?
Yes. We service and repair AMG models and will tell you if a specific job requires dealer-only equipment.
Will servicing at an independent garage affect my Mercedes?
Servicing with the correct approved oils and parts, and recording the work, keeps the car properly maintained. If your car is still under a manufacturer or dealer package, check its terms before booking.
Why does my Mercedes sit low in the morning?
Usually a small leak in an AIRMATIC strut, line or valve block. Catching it early is cheaper than replacing a compressor that has worked itself to death.
